Probably that has a lot to do with that I had bought a scanner for it to read the trouble codes from the computer, because I got sick and tired of paying a mechanic to plug a little device in to the diagnostic port, and tell me what's wrong with it. As I compare it to Chevy's (what I have always drove and worked on), Chevy's are built better.Īll though I will say the car has going on 190,000, which is surprising me, and that in its older age, a lot of the small little things aren't going wrong on it like they did when it was younger. I work on the thing, and every time I do I say things like, "I could do a better job designing this thing". Nor do I understand why they say Japanese cars are designed better than American. Although personally I am a passionate American car owner, and dislike foreign cars from any country, especially asian imports. I would love to get rid of it, but we can't afford new, nor is our credit great. The car was given to her by her parent's and it came with her. The car is my wife's, but I maintain and repair it. The aftermarket sunroof is not a good addition, and may contribute to the noise factor. It is a tad loud in the cabin when driving down the highway. Seats are very comfy, and it can haul a decent amount for a small sedan. If it wasn't burning oil, I wouldn't probably consider selling it, because it's just so cheap to own. One of the best handling cheap cars as well.Īnd just bombproof: Always starts, just goes, and with not much maintenance. The motor has 16 valves, and revs well and freely, so I push it when I'm able, as it seems to like it and it's fun. It's even somewhat fun to drive for an underpowered econobox. Very reliable, save the oil issue, but it still runs great, and starts every time. Otherwise, it's just usual maintenance items: shocks/struts, ball joints, tires, nothing weird. ![]() Biggest issue is that it now burns about a quart of oil every 700-800 miles.Ī/C compressor was dead when I bought it, and haven't replaced it.
